Terms and conditions
These terms explain what our services include, what they cost and how we work. Paying an invoice from Imexs Brokerage LTD means you have read and accepted them.
1. Who we are
Motorhome Import is a trading name of Imexs Brokerage LTD, registered in England and Wales, company number 13989357, registered office 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. Email: info@motorhomeimport.co.uk. Phone: 020 3826 8879.
2. What we do, and what we don't
We handle the UK import paperwork for motorhomes, campervans and RVs: the customs import declaration, the NOVA notification to HMRC and the paperwork for DVLA registration. What we do for you, and what it costs, is confirmed in writing before we start.
We don't buy or sell vehicles and we are not a party to your purchase. We don't run IVA or other approval tests, fit parts or modify the vehicle, pay road tax for you, or post your documents to the DVLA: you sign and send them.
3. Prices and what each one includes
Our fee covers our work only. Duty, VAT, the DVLA first registration fee, road tax, MOT and test fees, and shipping are paid by you, separately.
Customs declaration: £150
One customs import declaration for your vehicle, with the duty and VAT worked out. It covers the declaration only. Any resubmission of the declaration is charged again.
Customs declaration + NOVA: £190
A package price: the customs import declaration plus the NOVA notification to HMRC. Any resubmission of the declaration is charged again.
DVLA registration assistance: £195 with one of the services above, £250 on its own
Registering an imported vehicle with the DVLA is a complicated process, and a missing or wrong detail usually means the documents come back and you start waiting again. This service is there to avoid that: we give you all the information and documents your vehicle needs and we fill in the V55/5 with the right details, so you post everything once, complete. You sign the forms and send them to the DVLA yourself, and the DVLA fee is paid by you.
4. Quotes and payment
- Our fee is quoted and confirmed in writing before work begins.
- Duty and VAT figures given before HMRC assesses the vehicle are estimates. The final amount is set by HMRC.
- Our fees are not refundable once work has started.
- If we cannot complete the work because the information or documents you gave us are inaccurate, incomplete or false, the fee remains payable.
5. What we cannot guarantee
We prepare your paperwork properly and on time. Decisions and timescales belong to HMRC and the DVLA, so we do not guarantee processing times, that a relief or reduced rate will be granted, the final tax figure before HMRC has assessed the vehicle, or that a vehicle will pass a test or inspection.
6. Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate and complete information about the vehicle, including the true purchase price and its date of manufacture.
- Send the documents we ask for, promptly, and tell us if anything changes.
- Pay duty, VAT and third-party fees when they fall due.
We will not take part in declaring a value or age that is not true. If we find that information given to us is false, we may stop work, and no fee is refunded.
7. Guides on this website
The guides are general information about importing a motorhome into the UK. Rules change and every vehicle is different, so they are not advice for your specific case. Ask us before you commit to a purchase.
8. Liability
Where you have engaged us for a paid service, our liability is limited to the fee you paid for that service. We are not liable for duty, VAT or penalties correctly charged by HMRC, or for losses caused by inaccurate or incomplete information you gave us. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, email info@motorhomeimport.co.uk and tell us what happened. We aim to reply within 14 days.
10. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. We may update them; the version on this page applies, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
